‘To Be a Woman…’

‘To Be a Woman…’

‘To Be a Woman is not to be a girl’

But to be a girl is who I first knew…

And then I grew

‘ooh what are you?

When did you come through..?

What are you here to do?

And, oh! What’s that smell? …’

So as I said I grew…

Hair on my legs,

and…

Boobs on my chest

and…

I can no longer wear this vest

and…

I was told it’s called ‘Puberty’.

All very new to me…

To Be A Woman.

To Be a Woman is to Ebenezer.

Help

When they say women are strong, they are not wrong.

Strength.

To Be a Woman is to be a lover,

To Be a Woman is to be a Mother,

To Be a Woman is to be taken from the side of Man

‘…she shall be called Woman,’ (Genesis 2:23)

To Be a Woman is to called…

Beautiful,

lovely,

sexy,

Ugly

To Be a Woman is to be flawed.

To Be a Woman is to be…

Given to man,

Taken by the hand

Walked down the aisle,

Loved for a while,

Loved a little longer

To Be a Woman is to be…

stronger,

than society’s perception,

the media’s reflection

of a false sight

you see, To Be a Woman doesn’t mean you’re always right.

But Women are always right…

Willing to stand the fight

Some of the greatest of all time

Rosa Parks, We Salute you.

Mother Theresa, what a great Teacher.

So here I conclude,’ To Be a Woman’ encompasses more than one can exude.
